My mother passed away at the age of 96 with no funeral arrangements in place. I was very intimidated and apprehensive of talking to funeral homes and making all the arrangements. And my fears were justified after I talked to a couple of other Funeral Homes, until I found out about the Northern VA Jewish Funeral home. I was not sure about them because they had very few reviews, but then I saw that they had just opened earlier in the year. After I talked to the FH Director Gary, all my fears went away. He helped me through the whole process. The process was stress-free, Gary helped with selections, guided me on who and when I needed to contact, gently insisted on the items that needed to be done, although at first I was not sure. The rest of the staff was equally supportive and responsive, especially Ellen. We made all the arrangements over the phone (that was my preference). The preparation and the funeral itself was flawless, we were even a bit surprised that something can be done these days with such care, precision and tactfulness. Everything was on time, exactly as promised, sometimes even better. And all of it for a very reasonable price, no upsale. I highly recommend this Funeral Home if you want to have a personalized approach and be treated with utmost respect and understanding. I don't know how to thank them enough for guiding me through this difficult time.

When I called Northern Virginia Jewish Funerals as part of my estate planning process, it was my first time dealing with a funeral home. Fortunately, the staff made me feel comfortable discussing all the uncomfortable details. Gary Henninger and Ellen MacDonald were both terrific listeners. They answered all my questions directly and honestly. As a result, paying for the NVJF service was not an anxious experience. It was actually a moment of satisfaction.

We finally have a legit Jewish funeral home in Northern Virginia. Northern Virginia Jewish Funerals provide great service and education around the rituals regarding burial. Their caring team help make a very difficult time easier to deal with. Their brand new facility is located in the heart of Tyson's Corner on Tyco Rd.

I attended a "dinner and learn" event hosted by Northern Viriginia Funerals and found it to be very helpful and informative. The staff (Zane, Gary and Ellen) were very friendly and seem to genuinely care about their clients and the work they do. I definitely recommend meeting with this group to learn about the services they offer. This new company services the entire DMV.

I chose Northern Virginia Jewish Funerals to bury my daughter at first because they were local and I knew they would understand our burial customs. But, they were absolutely stellar though the whole grieving process. They called me right away and often. Kept me in the loop with the whole process and literally held me as I cried. I cannot say enough good things about them and I would highly recommend them.

As is the case with many people, pre-planning had been in the back of our minds for a long time. So when Northern Virginia Jewish Funerals (NVJF) came to the Northern Virginia area earlier this year, we decided to meet with them. We could not have asked for a better experience. Meeting with Gary and Ellen in the office in Vienna, it was more comfortable and easier to talk about funeral planning than we expected - not at all intimidating or upsetting. NVJF has filled a void in our community and we highly recommend their services. They are genuinely nice people, and it is clear that they hope to serve the needs of our community for years to come with integrity and compassion. Do not hesitate to have a conversation with them!

As a rabbi for 30+ years, I've seen a lot of funeral homes and met dozens of funeral directors in a few parts of the country. Most are adequate, and a rare few are really inspiring. Northern Virginia Jewish Funerals is clearly an industry leader coming out of the gate. The front office area is comfortable and contemporary, the staff are caring and gracious, and the built-in commitment to community partnerships the exact right pathway for success. It is clear that their client families will be extremely well served, and I look forward to seeing their success lift up the NoVa Jewish community for years to come!

Just stopped by to take a look at this new home. Thinking about preplanning. When I walked in, I thought I was in the wrong building. It was SO nice! It was like a charming and comfortable living space. I was in a place where I could relax instead of the usual sterile and typical funeral home. Man, what a difference on my emotions. These guys got it right.
